Visualization Analysis Research Of Website Usability And User Behavior Based On Web Server Log

Along with the development of Internet, the quantity of websites and web information are increasing at full speed. But the website usability is gradually becoming the principal problem influencing the running effect and continuing development of website. Usability puzzle exists generally in most websites and this has brought certain difficulty for user to obtain information effectively and accept website service. At present, the major method to settle website usability is to apply usability engineering to assist designing and improving websites. However, the prerequisite is to understand where website usability exists. Thus, the key to solve website usability lies in analyzing website usability and user behavior. Analysis of website usability and user behavior mainly means collecting website documents and log automatically and makes relevant analysis and processing. This kind of information data, which is in large quantity, cannot be observed directly and is not structured. Using traditional mathematical method to analyze it is difficult and the effect is not ideal. Information visualization is to express semi-structured data by visual graphs vividly. The person works on analysis could quickly and effectively obtain analytical result from tremendous amount of data. This is convenient for understanding and finding out problems, and then improving and enhancing usability of website.To solve this problem, we attempt to utilize current two-dimensional visualization technology, experimentally design a model for analyzing website user behavior and usability, and realize the kernel algorithm. The experimental system applying this model can effectively help website manager and designer to discover existing problems of websites. It is visual directly, high-efficient and can produce accurate results.First, this dissertation introduces relative concepts of usability and information visualization, showing the necessity and effectiveness of using information visualization technology to analyze user behavior and website usability. Then, the author introduces the designing ideas and system realization of website usability and user behavior analytical model based on diary analysis, makes key algorithm description and case analysis, and evaluates the effect of this model. At last, a summary is given to point out the working direction.
