A Study On Software Usability Analysis And Evaluate Methods And Tools

Presently as one of the hot topics in the industry field, as one mainly purpose of research of usability engineering is to provide an effective Human-Computer Interface to satisfy user.The usability of product can be response by user using it. So the user behavior data can help to find and improve the usability of product. Study showed that the user's sequence of action can response user's behavior model. User's behavior model contrast with the product designers' behavior model, which can make us find the reason why the product have usability problem.According to the practical requirements of usability in the industry field and the current research of usability, make use of computers' ability of storage and computing, we development a software, UsaExpert, which can assist experts to do user testing and heuristic evaluation. UsaExpert has three functions, i.e., data collection, assistant do user testing , assistant evaluation ,user behavior model analyzing .By using UsaExpert to evaluate the usability of actual software products, our research presents the fact that UsaExpert can help the members of usability evaluation to improve the efficiency of evaluation, to reduce the costs of evaluation, and to find some problems that could not be discovered without some assistant tools. At the same time, we can find the fundamental reason of usability problems by analyzing those graphs provided by UsaExpert.
