News Discourse Analysis Of Journalists' Investigation, Weekly Quality Report

This thesis endeavors to conduct a thorough news discourse analysis of Journalists' Investigation, Weekly Quality Report concerning with its text and related interpretations by close examination of its typical discourses. The paper unfolds the discussion from three dimensions: textual dimension, discursive dimension and social practice dimension, whose evolution formulates a gradual process from description to interpretation to anatomy of the discourses. Textual analysis is the starting point which makes brief description of the language and structure. The social practice analysis is the basis which focuses on the anatomy of the relationships between powers behind the news discourses with the aid of Michel Foucault's power discourse theory. The discursive discourse analysis is the backbone which is not only based on textual analysis but also the solid basis for the social practice analysis.
