With the accelerated process of modernization,the passion for cities burst out all around China.Cities,one of evaluation methods of socioeconomic development, have been paid lots amount of attention by mass media.New weekly,which was published in 1996,started to report cities early and it’s one of the magazines that had a clear consciousness of finding cities.New weekly,which began to report cities from 1998,sees cities as its consistent interest and set a good example for city report in China.This article will choose 28 feature articles and 125 column articles from New weekly as the case and analyze these articles from journalism academic layer,including content analysis,formal analysis,language features,inspiration and deficiency.At present,the research of New weekly most focus on cover special planning and brand analysis which are macro and the research of city report shockingly scarce.So I wish this article can give complete and deep knowledge of New weekly at a macro level as well as explore the business operation of city report.
