Engineering Drawing Management System (EDMS) is one of the important parts in PDM.Engineering Drawing Management System (EDMS) is one crucial part of the PDM, which is one of the basic functions in the PDM, and its objectives primarily consist of the data and information in the design process. In the domain of product data management, EDMS can fulfill the main functions of PDM at present, and it has the advantages of low cost, conveniently handling, effectively functioning, and so on. So it is desirable to develop the EDMS, which adapts to the situations of our countries' middle or small enterprises.This dissertation based on Sichuan Province important science and technology Item" The Research of Web-Based Integrated of Engineering Drawing Management System" brings forward the system framework of Web-BasedIntegrated Engineering Drawing Management System.Firstly, the dissertation expatiates with background of PDM by analyzing the implement in domestic and international enterprises, characteristic and system framework of PDM. Then it brings forward the following contents: Web-based Integrated Engineering Drawing Technology, the design of the system framework based on the B/S structure, the design and development process of the system's database based on the MS-SQL Server2000, the security certification of this system based on the operation system and database system, and how to select the information about list bar and title bar and the automatic creation of the Bill of Material (BOM) based on a solution that is to built a block with certain properties in the AUTOCAD drawings.Finally, with the instruction of the Web technology and the PDM theory, the dissertation develops an EDMS, which can be applied in a computer integrated manufacture environment, based on the product data management, and support the distribution work environment. This system consists of five functional modules: system management, Drawing management, documentation management, data query, item management. This system can effectively manage the drawing files in engineering, and its functions are as same as the same kind of PDM systems in foreign countries work.
