In the wave of global manufacturing industry informatization, the domestic manufactur-ing industry informatization also process from functional automation to information systemintegration and process optimization. With the application and popularization of militarymanufacturing information technology, single technique application is becoming matured.Department of design is no longer using handwritten documents and manual drawing as therepresentative of office automation, such as electronic text and forms, and commonly usingCAD technique to design vast majority of products. Meanwhile, a variety of other comput-er-aided methods are widely used. With the application of variety advanced software andtechnology, the efficiency of product development is greatly improved. However, it is thereason that the amount of electronic information is becoming doubling and data stream is be-coming more complex, information disunity in the result of asymmetric design. Therefore,these above constraints become a new bottleneck and research topics and also bring obstaclesand challenges to the development of enterprises design capacity, to shortening productioncycle and controlling cost. Product Data Management(PDM) is a technique to help engineersand others managing product data and product development process. In addition, ProductStructure Management(PSM) is a core component of PDM. PSM ensure the large amount ofrequired data and information to track design and manufacture, and then be used to supportand maintain products.International industrial developed countries, including the United States, Europe, Japanand so on are pay great attention to PSM, which has becoming the industry's basic standard and elevated as enterprise development strategy. The objective of this research subject is toextract the successful PSM experiences from domestic and foreign enterprises. In addition, inorder to ultimately regulate the research and production management, it is necessary to meetthe demands of actual conditions of the practical application of information technology inmilitary enterprises, and meanwhile, according to the design features to analyze and make aplan. Firstly, the thesis analyzed the characteristics of the product structure management andthe various elements of technology in detail. And then, the thesis studies applicable construc-tion methods of product structure tree to military enterprises on the basis of functional re-quirements. A specific studies on components segment, version management, product struc-ture tree traversal, document management and bill of material, and investigating the corre-sponding algorithm and significance of them. Secondly, the thesis considered the practicalproblems of the system application associated with military enterprise management status andapplication requirements, and also providing the corresponding solution and system selectionin order to achieve the aim of system application. Then put it effect with PSM-based projectmanagement through the establishment of standardized management processes, transfor-mation of the management process and data processing. Use electronic processes to guaranteedesign processes, this includes task allocation, standard templates, design, approval, unifiedprint, file of process design. In addition, on accounts of strengthen the effectiveness of designand make more convenient for designers to cooperat with eachother, it is virtual to accumu-late electronic drawing data to the formation of database, improving the efficiency and capac-ity of design.The thesis conclusion looks forward to the future work. And it raised the opinion of fur-ther applying commercialization, standardization of management and modern informationmanagement to the application of the product structure management system. Improvingmanagement efficiency through system applications to optimize business processes, regulateemployee's operation and improve management efficiency. Meanwhile, pay attention onstudy of security problems, improve the system integration work and achieve the transfor-mation of design data to the process design and production processing. On the basis of theexisting system applications, form scientific and standardized research and production man-agement system step by step. Ultimately, achieving the change, which from traditional designand management module to the information technology based paperless design and manage-ment module.
