The Study Of Subject Librarian Mechanism Of Library Of University Based On The Knowledge Service Under The Digital Environment

The development of Internet and changes of user behavior make the information communication system of research need to be reconstructed. Do we need the subject librarian under the digital environment ? If we need, what should subject librarian serve for research users ? It is a new subject which would be settled in library domain.The paper reviews the history of the subject librarian , refutes the Dickinson's viewpoints and discusses the need of the subject librarian under the digital environment.After understanding what digital environment would do for us, the paper advances the subject librarian knowledge service mechanism of library of university under the digital environment which integrates the theories of knowledge service, information resource and technologies, reconstructs the subject librarian mechanism, and achieves "One Service" based on the analysis of the status and problems of subject librarian mechanism of libraries of university in China.The paper advances the importance of Library Information Resource Planning and constructs the service mechanism supporting the knowledge service of "One Service" in which subject librarian is center, subject information gateway is principal part and Internet service is important by using the information portal technology and information gateway technology, analyzes the status of major development ofuniversities and advances to establish organization structure rationally and to change the old structure of organization to a new organization structure which supports knowledge service, explores subject service mechanism by using Customer Relationship Management, advances that subject librarian must be endowed with a new consciousness of role, a new behavior pattern and new criteria of judgement, to set up the encouragement mechanism based on team and participation, the personalities and colony characters of knowledge workers, and to find the new exploitation methods of human resource of knowledge service.Finally ,the paper studies the subject librarian of ChongQing Institute of Technology individually and constructs the mechanism of "One Service" of ChongQing Institute of Technology.The paper is useful to develop knowledge service of subject librarian of which user is center by using the information technologies.
