The water conservancy trade is a trade with very long history, and also a trade with very intensive information. Nowadays the information technologies are developed at full speed, all changed greatly to water conservancy information collection, processing , way to share. Information technology is accelerating permeated to water conservancy trade, and water conservancy trade face overall great opportunity of technology upgrading. Water conservancy government affairs, the flood prevention and reduces natural disasters, the attemper controls of water resource, comprehensive administration of water environment, the design and construction of the large-scale project, comprehensive management of the large-and-middle-scale irrigated area ,etc. need to adopt the technology of the computer urgently. Network technology of the communication, microelectric technique , a series of new and high technology , such as auxiliary designing technique of the computer , 3S technology (remote sensing , geographical information system , global positioning system ) ,etc. carry on technological transformation , utilize taking information technology as the core of a series of new and high technology carrying on overall technology upgrading and transform we to water conservancy trade and this course be called vividly Digital water resources. This text consults the newest achievement of relevant technology and scientific field, hold several key problems of information management system construction of water resource, have combined practicality and put forward the meaning and purpose of this selected works question.This text subject part set about from several key technology , probe into digital newest progress of water conservancy at first —Its domestic and international digital water conservancy uses and its domestic and international research dynamic status and prospect of the current situation of 3S technology. Then has analysed present popular GIS software in detail — The application of ArcGIS 8 and its geographical database (GeoDatabase ) and the basic frames of Arc Hydro; Have been analysed and discussed Arc Hydro model design philosophy and optimize models on this basis, prove Timeseries data application of digital water conservancy; This text probe into between GIS and work pattern that network combine at the same time, provide instance of key technology that this text describe.The innovation of this text is shown in the following several aspects mainly:First, during the process of confirming the direction of the flowing of the river system network, have analysed that customization of the course of the water body object in VB procedure with the traditional method , and point out the limitation that this method uses, that is to expect quite much the computer of the person who is customized,and it is convoluted to debug, according to the above-mentioned problems, the simple and effective method that I have put forward another kind -Describe the water body target with the craft method in the content table directly, and join it to the river system network, though the precision is not high for this method, it is rational to be effective.Second, While confirming the concrete position of drainage , analyse and research the characteristics and relation of the digital high model and river system network each other, put forward with digital high model picture turn into river network system method automatically, and has got some real results.Third, During the process of confirming the direction of flows, it is a real characteristic flowing in a kind of gravity according to the water body, it is improve to go on to routine method, and confirmed one of the flow out piece of network (sink) can confirm all flow direction of the network.
