The character and structure of ECL circuits were analyzed, basic flip-flop of ternary Logic ECL circuit were designed and simulated.In the section about character, this dissertation introduced the theory of switch-signal of ECL. Based on the analysis of complementary-coupling characteristic of ECL circuits, ECL ternary D flip-latch with complementary-coupling structure was designed. It also indicated the two switch variables of Differential Pair are correlational and possessed complementary-coupling characteristic.In the section about circuits structure, this dissertation introduced the development and improvement of ECL circuits: common ECL, differential ECL and modify feedback ECL circuits. Their structure character and performance were analyzed. Based on the differential ECL and modify feedback ECL circuits, direct-comparativist ECL circuit was proceed. It's a feedback circuits that have strongpoint of differential ECL and modify feedback ECL circuits. Based on the complementary-coupling characteristic of ECL circuits and direct-comparativist ECL circuit, ECL ternary basic flip-latch were designed in switch level. First , direct-comparativist ECL ternary D flip-latch with complementary-coupling structure was designed. Ternary principal and subordinate flip-latch and clock competition flip-latch with complementary-coupling structure based on direct-comparativist ECL was also designed. These flip-flops were simulated and analyzed.
