Nowadays, Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition (SCADA) system is penetrating into every kinds of fields. Recently, with the government putting more notice on developing natural gas as a kind of supplementary energy, gas industries become an important field for SCADA's developing.Chengdu Gas Corporation (CGC), as one of oldest companies in this field to provide natural gas, it's gas scale ranks fifths in our country. In face of its heavy task and complex management in transporting and distributing gas, and in order to meet the need of the growth of the Gas Transportation-Distribution Systems'(GTDS) dispatchment and manager, a sort of modern and effective computer system-automatic supervising and controlling system-is needed. SCADA not only can be a tool to produce and transport safely, but also can provide scientific methods to optimize network transportation-distributing dispatchment, analysis, and assistant decision-making. It's application will make the work of Chengdu GTDS more sound and morden.In order to make SCADA system exert more perfect function in Chengdu GTDS, the research did some beneficial work on introduction and application of the new technique in the fields of computer hardware, network communications and software. Firstly, the author analyzed the present condition and development of SCADA system's application inland and overseas, secondly, according to the background and aim of CGC SCADA system's item construction, he put forwardcollectivity design and the design principle .In succession, in term of the design scheme, the author divided SCADA system into three parts (Remote Terminal Unit, Communication System, Main Control Center), and designed them separately, at the same time, he offered an effective resolution to the related problems. In the end, the author set forth his views on SCADA systems' development in the future.
