A timeable switching power controller refers to a switching power device that can turn on and off power at the time preset by the user. At present, there has been a great variety of switching power devices. However, they are limited in application and difficult to control. In view of this, the present study proposes a design scheme about the intelligent power controlling system.The system proposed in the study is a remote controlling system based on bus topological LAN, which includes a system controlling center and terminals of the intelligent controller. The system controlling center, as the core of the system, uses RS-485 LAN to manage 32 intelligent power controlling terminals on the bus. It queries real-time states and sets timing switches by sending and receiving various message frames of Modbus format. A terminal of the intelligent controller is a controlling device that switches on and off power through Solid State Relay according to the time predetermined by the user. It can serve not only as an independent controlling device, but also as a network controlling terminal by being accessed to the bus network through RS-485 interface. When it works as an independent controlling device, the user can set the parameters of time with the aid of Human-computer Interface provided by keyboard and LCD. On the other hand, when the terminal is accessed to network, the user can make remote setting on the software plane of the system controlling center apart from following the former practice. In order to improve the efficiency of controlling devices, each intelligent switching power controller is designed to simultaneously control three channels of power.The remote control based on RS-485 bus network is an advantage of the system, which provides convenience for the application of the system in the field of industrial intelligent management. However, in our daily life, it is inappropriate to use such network to realize the remote controlling function. As phone is increasingly popularized, it is suggested that the system should adopt public PSTN (Public Switched Telephone Network) to realize the function of remote control. Besides, up to now the system can only manage 32 terminals at the same time. If it is expected to meet the needs of larger industrial intelligent controlling system, it must increase the number of terminals. This then calls for further improvements on both hardware and software of the system.
