Government, enterprise own regulatory, procedure and information , network development at full speed, which decide that Workflow Management System (WfMS) base on Web play a important role in it, and be a core function of office automation(OA). Just as operating system in PC, OA platform is the operating system for administrator. However, because of the variety of the government, enterprise management mode, form the complicating of the WfMS; and because of the domestic users' limited ability to learn and use software, the WfMS not to use friendly either, lead to the fact that in the course of implementing, a large number of questions appear in the WfMS.This text comes from JEIIS project of workflow by Century Link Information Co. In Chongqing, which referred to the operating system graph operation mode of Windows, drew lessons from the design idea of visual programming, for introducing operation of graph into WfMS, offering one graph interface to user, managing flows through Web. from demand , to design, to analyze difficult point, the text detailed shows design principle of WfMS, it solve the problem of system unfriendly and using complicated, so that OA system is easy to accept by users, and implement better, it advance the process of the government, enterprise informationization On the other hand , through the research based on visual technology of Web , People can know the advantage and disadvantage of B/S structure correctly further , include the feasibility that light client to reach visual operates, and the question existed for using light client mode to realizes the function of heavy client.The main content of WfMS base on Web includes the following several points: The visual workflow-defined, with VML technology, to realize the figure programming based on Web, and the problem of visual information transforming solved from the abstract workflow data to the shape; The visual form-defined, with JavaScript and XML technology, to realize how to realize the editing function of pages in having a look around; The visual workflow-controlled, with VML and statistical way, to reflect the workflow running situation and analyze the workflow result.
