A Workflow Process Modeling Based On Active Network

With the development of information technology, informatization in modern corporations is required more and more. Business management is dynamically characterized as business process reengineering and organization reconstruction. With its own advantages, the workflow technology can help the corporations to achieve the Business Process Integration, Business Process Automation and Business Process Management. And the fundation of all of those is the modeling of the business process. In this thesis, the Workflow Process Model is studied and a workflow modeling tool is designed and implemented, which is a visual Integrated Development Environment (IDE).Firstly, the general information of workflow technology and Workflow Management System is introduced. Then the workflow process modeling and its current developing status are stated. And through comparison among several modeling techniques, the modeling based on Active Network is thought to be an appropriate technique.The main of this paper is to analyze and design the modeling system and a process definition language based on XML is put forward, in which the entities of the Workflow Process Definition can be defined strictly. Based on that, a workflow modeling system is designed in detail and implemented at last.Finally, the limitations of this system are explained and the direction of future work is pointed out.
