The Research Of Location Based Services And Its Application Based On The WAP

Location based services is a technology that detects the users' actual locations (including latitude and longitude, speed, heights etc.) through mobile phone, PDA, laptop computer, special orientation devices ect, coordinated with wireless network. Location based services of mobile phone in China will be greatly developed in high speed in the 3 years, and the income of which would reach 1.255 billion US dollars, according to the reports made by the Research Institution of Ministry of Information Industry and Research Institution of Information Communication. There exists a common knowledge among the industries that location based services would become another important profitable earning sector for the information communication salesmen, whether on the market scale, or in the prospect, this service may be a great profits after SMS and MMS digital services.As the gradual construction with the location based services network, and the value-added application of which provided by the software industries, this service would be a win-win outcome not only for the information salesmen but also for the software businessmen. The article generally presents us how to develop value-added application process based on some certain location services system of wireless network. The main points of the article are:1. Details the principles and system of location based services, and comparison among various orientation technologies.2 .
