To management the typical geography objects spectrum characteristic database is our project goals, but because geography objects information have a obvious character, that is space distributing, So we put forward to use component-based development technologies to develop software so as to meet with the demands of the project.First of all, the thesis expatiates basic components-based software technologies, which include Components Object Model (COM), Distributed Components Object Model (DCOM), Objects Linking and Embedding (OLE), as well as ActiveX, and analyzes the application of these technologies in GIS. Next, the thesis discusses the mode of ComGIS programming, and introduces a ComGIS software tool-MapInfo MapX. Finally, the thesis introduces the System implement scheme, which integrated with ComGIS technologies and Visual development language. On the basis of the study on ComGIS, the author developed the System based on component technologies, and designed the system structure, system functions, user interface and system database. With Visual development language -Visual Basic 6.0, ComGIS tool-MapInfo MapX, DBMS -MS Sql Server 2000 and OS - Windows 2000 server, the author constructed the integrated development environments, programmed the detailed codes, Implemented function modules like that map control, layer control, show control, feature editor, attribute management and so on. The system contains most of GIS functions, such as map zoom out, zoom in, pan, layer entirely show, geography coordinate dynamic show and information query and so on.
