Although there is a rapid development in the computer technology, especially Internet technology, most of the existing application systems are dispersed, isomerous and self-closed, while not exchanging information with others. This is largely due to the relative independence among departments in one same company and the lack of layouts and criterions while constructing the system. For instance, current traditional geography data integration solutions often have the following shortcomings: the rule of geography data transforming and integration are mixed with the code, and in result, it is hard to deal with changing flexibly; effective communication mechanism are not offered for geography data management and application systems analysis; the geographic analysis model is related to various types of geography data, so there may be problems in organizing and managing different models; Geography information system depends on intermediate storehouse or integration storehouse to solve geography data integration, which, however, may also bring along new data islands.Based on Henan Luohe power department emergency GIS project, this paper first studies the related technology of data integration, aiming at dealing with the intrinsic shortcomings in geography data integration. Then, it puts forward a general solution fulfilled by JAVA and XML for geography data exchanging and integration under isomerous environments, through the analysis of common data exchanging pattern and topology structure in the corporation. After that, it provides detailed design, implementation and verification of the solution. The detailed work of this paper is as follows:①It investigates the principle of data integration, related technologies to exchange geography data among enterprises and existing problems. Meanwhile it analyzes several data integration solutions mostly used in enterprises and the technologies and applications taken used by these solutions and compares advantages and disadvantages of them.②It take researches to mix XML with geography data integration technologies. While emphasizing on technology criterions of XML and ways of transformation between XML and geography data, it studies JAVA modules programming technology and plans to improve the reusability and extendibility of application systems from the aspects of module technology and design patterns. ③It solves the problems of communication reliability, safety and timeliness of underlying communication components across different systems or platforms. It designs the geographic data exchange middleware system based on XML, including encrypting and decrypting modules in the system, compressing and decompressing modules, communication modules, GIS service packaging modules and the design and implementation of XML analysis modules.④The designed data exchange middleware system is applied in the Luohe power department emergency system and GIS system to validate the effectiveness and rationality of this middleware.
