Research Of Image Signal Sampling System Based On PCI Bus

Along with development of digital image processing technology and enhancement of the performance of computer, the image signal's sampling and processing was more and more used in science researching, industry producing and sanitation department. The correlative application field, such as object tracking, automatic driving and traffic monitoring, request high-speed transfer of digital image signal. The PCI is a high-powered local bus of computer, and it can transfer data in 132MB/s, so it is very fits for high-speed peripheral equipment, such as graph, image, 3D animation and network. The PCI already became mainstream bus of computer. At the present time, the correlative high-speed peripheral equipment is designed almost based on it. The project is to design an image signal sampling system based on PCI bus. The paper introduces the character of PCI bus, describe the signals and commands and transfer protocol of PCI bus. To play down difficulty of developing the board, we adopt the PCI9052 chip to construct the interface system. The logic controller of the high-speed image acquiring system based on CPLD technology is designed and developed according to the characteristics of the complex programmable logic device, such as, dense integration, little volume, easy modification and simple designing. In order to solve the real-time requirement of data transmission on the high-speed image acquiring system, the data transmission method with the double-memory mapping is advanced. The continual reading from and writing to the data memory on the acquiring card can be realized through designing CPLD chips.Drivers is the software interface accessing and controlling hardware. It became a part of the OS after it is installed. The paper briefly introduces how to develop PCI equipment driver for windows2000 OS.
