The Controller Area Network(CAN) is part of fieldbus. It is a serialcommunicating network which can effectually sustain the distributedcontrol or real-timing control. And CAN is the only international standardof fieldbus which is ratified by International Standard Organization(ISO).The communication between computer and dot is quite important whenCAN bus is studied. The PCI-CAN interconnection acting as the interfacebetween CAN bus and PCI bus is very important in CAN system. As thesame time, the PCI-CAN interconnection is the bridge between computerand dot because it completes the communication between them. The PCI-CAN interconnection involved CAN bus and PCI bustechnology. It studies the theory and realization of the PCI-CANinterconnection, designs the adapter and dot, program the communicatingsoftware and the driver of adapter based upon the PCI bus and CAN bustechnology. The communication of PCI bus and CAN bus should be testedseparately When the data communication of system is testing. That ismeans, it should test the commucation of PCI bus, the commucation ofCAN bus, and the commucation between the interface of PCI and CAN. Through the study on theory and experiment of PCI-CANinterconnection, we can prove that the PCI-CAN interconnection is quiteimportant in CAN bus communication system. And it is also the directionof the communication between CAN bus and the PC.
