| The information about students is enormous in a university, which is nothing less than many large-scale databases. The task of the project is to develop the management system of students' status of Jilin University. Powerbuilder 7.0 and MS SQL server etc. are used as exploiting tools. Through the demonstration of software solving schema and computer hardware, investigating and analyzing the application field, referring to database programming practice information, we can fulfill the requirement of design assignment. The database can manage student's information and students' score system. The thesis consists of three parts. In the first part, systematic schemes and the solutions of hardware and software are provided. The second part concerns with the constructing of design platform, as well as the installation and disposition of Powerbuilder 7.0 and SQL server. The third part is the project content which include the design of sub module.There are various departments in the university. There are different majors in the departments. The different majors can be classified into different classes. Therefore, in the designed students' management system, students' management system is hierarchical. The data in the lowest layer is students' detail information, such as individual information, family background, score information, etc. The information is searched from the departments step by step. In the future learning process, information changes and increase. The designed student's status management system can manage students' information dynamically. My analytic task is to investigate the application field and to analyze the applied information and operational requirements to form the required technical manual in the application field. The purpose of the analysis is to present the data item, the relation between the data items and the detail definition of the data operation task, which establishes the solid base for concept design of the database, logic design and physical design and provides the reliable gist to optimize the logical physical structure of the database.Code management: in the enormous students' information, much information is overlapping. For example, the students in the same class come from the same department and major. To gather the information into the database will waste large space and reduce the quality of the database. Therefore, establishing independent the code list and using code to denote the department and the major will make it convenient to manage the database when rename the name of the department and the major. In the aspect of the system design, adopting server or client server model, many clients can visit the same server database. Therefore, the centrality of the data tends to be reasonable and the integrality of the data can be guaranteed.In the students' status management system, the data storage structure and storage and distilling methods save into the data dictionary.In the designed students' status system of Jilin University, in order to improve the efficiency and convenience of the database management, we adopt a number of code models. In the students' information, a large amount of information is overlapping. The department, major and grade of the students in the same class are the same. If the department, major, chosen courses and grade of every student's information are saved into the database, which will waste the saving space and prolong the searching time. According to the above problems, we use enormous code to take the place of repeated information in our design.The system administrator is the owner of the whole system. He or she has the all rights of the system and manages the system, including data management, user management and purview management.The database operator is the protector of the whole system. Though he cannot administrate the overall system, he safeguards nearly all the data of the system.
