Management information system for the final product houseware of No.2 Hot-roll plant of Wuhan Iron and Steel Corporation (WISCO) is designed and established in accordance with practical situation, combining with development of MIS and technology of network database, on the basis of scientific management theory. This system uses Client/Server (C/S) mode, takes Windows 2000 Advanced Server and SQL Server 2000 database as its platform. By using the development tool of PowerBuilder 9.0, the storage management was developed.The system design, development method and development process under C/S mode was introduced. Furthermore the storage control method was analysed in theory. So we designed the database of this system.When the development was been doing, the designer analysed the organization structure, the operation flow and demand of management carefully. Finally, a management information system which meets managers'and operators'demand was finished.All system comprises five modules, namely, operation center, management center, finance center, dada center and system center. In this thesis I stressed the development of operation center which includes stores'out management, stores'in management, storage management, purchase management and rejection management. By analyzing the operation flow and optimaizing reorganization the bisiness process the MIS can run with high level efficiency.By using this MIS the warehouse is been managed well. Futhermore, the material and the capital can be used more efficient. The system can also provide the elaborate analysis report for the decision makers and make it possible to raise the level of decision-making.
