Analysis And Redevelopment Of MIS In A Passenger Transportation Industry

The article is a short introduction to a new model of integration and redevelopment of MIS in passenger transportation companies, aiming at taking full use of MIS in company operation and management, and promoting the reform of enterprise management model in passenger transportation industry. It presents the current developing stage of MIS in China's domestic companies, analyzes the application of computer technology in MIS exploitation, and points out the problems occurred at the process of the companies developing their own MIS. As a typical example, the MIS of Xinhualu Passenger Transportation Co. LTD. is discussed on the basis of hardware and software technology under the existing theories and methods of MIS.The first section discusses the definition of the MIS, It's a system of man and mechanics (computer etc.), It can help industries to make their strategic in overall and forecast their future with the up-to-date information, It can determine their different functions and attain their the long-term goals by controlling the behaviors with the information. Exploiting MIS is a method that an industry seeks itself development. But it is a big project for exploiting MIS. It's a gradually process for the companies to apply MIS from the junior stage to the senior stage, a wide variety of elements affecting this process are analyzed under the existing theories and methods of MIS, which prepares a specific theory basis for the MIS in passenger transportation companies.The second section illustrates the current condition of MIS from two aspects: hardware and software, especially from the software structure of thicket-selling subsidiary system with the detail analysis of data procedure and function models; and also, points out the main existing problems: three separated subsidiary systems are isolated; Internet is not efficiently applied to vary the ticket-selling methods; Both advanced ticket-selling methods and original handwork balance methods can't raise the efficiency.The third section introduces a new method of integration and redevelopment of MIS in passenger transportation companies. First, for hardware, organize Intranet inside the companies and introduce VLAN to guarantee the safe operation environment; second, for software, according to the administrative structure and operation procedure of the company, take full advantage of BIS-model subsidiary system introduced and CIS-model subsidiary system reserved; apply UML to analysis model for balance subsidiary system; and also, suggest the detail offollowing subsidiary systems design and their realization environment. Third, design and introduce an easy long-term ticket-selling method on the basis of traditional ticket-selling subsidiary system by existing technologies and instruments: applying UPN in hardware, C/S model in software structure.In short, the article, on the background of the MIS of Xinhualu Passenger Transportation Co. LTD., provides it a new model of integration and redevelopment of MIS and the design process of core subsidiary systems. Though the design is only at a primary stage, it's expected to provide beneficial reference for Xinhualu Passenger Transportation Co. LTD. in its future MIS development.
