Inventory Management Process Reengineering And Information System Design For ISD Company

As one of the most important items in business management, inventory management has been widely concerned. It is not only affecting the capital flow of the enterprise, but also closely related to enterprise’s productivity and efficiency. So intensify inventory management and Optimize management process could increase working efficiency and decline business operation cost, which will promote the overall competitiveness of the Enterprise. However, on inventory Management, problems like unreasonable structure, unclear process, low level of information, etc. had already been restricting the development of enterprise.According to the above problems, this paper has illustrated the inventory management definition, business process re-engineering and concepts and methods of information system design, it established theory foundation to the analysis of research objects. Then through investigation on ISD Company, one of medium manufacture second level Enterprises under A state-owned enterprises (SOE), find out the problems existed in inventory management, through the analysis and discussion to the existed problem, proposed the solution of adjusting the storage structure and modify inventory management process for enhance the efficiency of inventory management. Applying ABC analysis methods, creating integrated inventory coding rule for reduce the inventory management cost, and applying balance record card methods for setting up inventory management indicator, clarify inventory management targets. All these will be the strong basement to the further enhancement of enterprise comprehensive competitiveness.At last, the paper states the importance of information system design for an enterprise. The business process reengineering could not be reached without the support of information technology. Based on investigation to ISD, I proposed the information system design to inventory control, created the inventory management information system function module and illustrate in detail to function module.Through the solution proposed, the productivity of ISD inventory management will be enhanced, and positive affection will be made to promote comprehensive competitiveness.
