Design And Implementation Of The Connector For The Map Sercvice Platform

Map Service Platform is based on the basic environment of the WebGIS's development and running, it is made up of the components layer and the connector, and it is application-oriented and provides for common map function, if WebGIS 's Development is based on Map Service Platform, the cycle of Development will be shortened and the difficulty of Development will be reduced.The connector plays an important role in Map Service Platform. After analyzed the characteristics and disadvantages of original connectors for ArcIMS, this paper puts forward a suitable special connector. The communication and the process of ArcXML are two main functions of the special connector .After the anylasis of all possible technique, we selected a suitable way to communicate and deal with ArcXML and designed a special connector for Map Service Platform .Finally, in the environment of .net, a special connector for Map Service Platform based on Web Services is designed and developed. Object model, dealing with ArcXML and connector proxy is developed separately. The special connector is well applied well for Map Service Platform based on Web Services.The main research works are as follows:1. Analyze the characteristics and status in quo of WebGIS and analyze the advantages and structure of Map Service Platform.2. Analyze original connectors for ArcIMS and compare each other .On the base, the special connector for Map Service Platform is designed.3. Develop and test the special connector for Map Service Platform based on Web Services.
