There is a very long history of the use of geographic information by people.In the area of navigation,path planning and decision support,geographic information plays a huge role at anywhere in anytime.The World Wide Web technology has changed all aspects of human society include the geographic information system.Accompanied by the prosperity of these technologies,a new area called WebGIS has been created.Since1993 when it was created,WebGIS has been developing rapidly,it attracts more and more users by virtue the unique charm and a wide range of uses.Each industry has a direct or indirect connection with WebGIS.However,with the increasing use of WebGIS in all walks of life,a large number of repeated GIS development work is also being copied every day,so the efficiency of WebGIS development needs to be improved right now.Based on the research and application of WebGIS system in various industries,this thesis puts forward the concept of GIS middleware which can support multi industry.as a middleware it can be used by WebGIS application developers for all walks of life.They can quickly build system when they focus on the business system research and development,to provide users with a better experience without understand of the complex operation underlying GIS.At the same time,this thesis want to do something for OGC.This thesis studies the limitations of the current GIS platform and a large number of reference.then,follow the principles of interface design specification,This thesis designed and implemented the WebGIS middleware architecture and interface specification,applied the system to the railway WebGIS,and the function and performance of the system has been verified.The contents of this thesis includes but are not limited to:(1)Compared the advantages and disadvantages of the existing WebGIS technology,this paper puts forward the concept of WebGIS middleware supporting multi industry,designed its architecture,and defined the corresponding interface specification.(2)The database,system structure,interface specification of the WebGIS middleware system has been designed in details.(3)A WebGIS middleware system using the architecture and interface specification above has been implemented.(4)The architecture and interface specification of the system proposed in this thesis has been verified.Practice has proved that the WebGIS middleware system proposed in this thesis is good for the efficiency of WebGIS application development,and it reduces duplication of work in the process of development in various industries.The system is compact and lightweight,also easy to use.At the same time the system have a good support to various sectors of the industry include of the function that is independent of a industry or dependent.It has certain theoretical significance and practical value.
