The Research And Services Realization Of Digital Television Middleware Platform

As guide and core of digital family, digital TV begins coming into our life. With the realization of the unification of three nets, the role of the digital TV is not merely a broadcast receiver platform, it will develop into the multimedia service platform of integration of different family's information resources. Put studying especially in the application and development of the interactive services, it's helpful to improve service consciousness, develop interactive business. But when it comes to terminal platform, there are two troublesome problems, which are lack of interactivity and self-constrain. Therefore, a resolution with standard and open terminal platform is needed to satisify the compatibility of different headends and different media services. For this reason, the technology of digital TV middleware arises.Digital television middleware is one of the most important techniques of digital television system. It is a kind of system software that resides between the application and the underlying operation system. It can shield software developers from low-level platform details by providing a set of standard application interface for digital television. Now, digital television gets more and more manufacturer's attention. The research on digital television middleware in the oversea has gained some evolvement. However, it has been done little in our country. So, research and development of our own digital television middleware have an important academic and applied significance.The work mentioned in this paper is mainly about: It thoroughly analyzes the DTV middleware technology and it is necessary for us to make DTV middleware standard with our own standard. Then a full solving scheme of middleware porting layer is proposed and several services are successfully developped based on the MHP platform. Finally the system of performance indicators test is proposed. This research has the following characteristics: Firstly, we make a comprehensive introduction to the DTV middleware and make somesuggestions about Chinese digital TV middleware based on MHP. Secondly, here a set-top-box system framework is proposed, it will make middlewareporting from different platform flexible and convenient.Thirdly, realization and improvement of data broadcast based on MHP platform is emphasized, other services are also introduced.
