Research On The Construction Of Hybrid Library

The hybrid Library is one where electronic information resources and traditional printed resources co-exist and are brought together in an integrated information service, accessed via electronic gateways available through the internet or local computer networks. In order to make use of both resources that heterogeneity of genres, different types and many ways to access effectively andconvenience, library provide an new information management model--hybridlibrary.Many countries realized the importance to build hybrid library service and they do many researches and applications in this area for example in America, United Kingdom, Germany, France and Australia. The service has been built and people can use this kind of services in almost anywhere.With the economic and social development of our country, we also need to establish an information resource-sharing interface to meet the needs of government and society. It has very important theoretical and practical value for us to strength?the technical services and management manners in our National Culture Information Resource-sharing Work.This paper gave the definition of the concept of a hybrid library, investigated the project of hybrid library in foreign country, analyzed the feature of it and then described that the central function is identify and discovery, location, reference and delivery. With this idea as the base theory, development are described, including system architecture, metadata standards, content integration, information processing, example products for today's hybrid information systems, improving services waysand so on. Finally the conclusion is that the management model must be changed in two ways. One is the rearrangement of the library department. A second is the personage evolution of librarian.
