Institutions Of Higher Learning Library Services Plan-based Digital Library System Design And Realization

The development of Library Management System is synchronizing with the advance of current digital age, which is the foundation of library management and the reader service. The integrated library management system is affecting the quality and efficiency of library's work. Along with continuous development of the network technology, information technology and modern service concept of library management, the systems currently in use can not follow the service-oriented management thinking of customer and the needs of modern digital library management; it restricts the development of current contemporary library in the way of library management and service. This dissertation break the restriction base on the library service plan concept and the experience of my work by design the library management system of Chongqing Institute of Technology. The management system is designed into multiple subsystems by using of structured design methods and according to the guidance of the LSP concept of library, the functional classification and business flow point of view, also in accordance with the principle of combining practical and scientific, systematic analysis. The new library management system provides a new solution for the university library applied the library management system concept LSP and through its system architecture and database design, the three levels B/S architecture, the large scale database ORACLE and SQL Server 2000 as backup ground databse, and the PHP4 interactive applications environment. The detail research on the Chongqing Institute of Technology Library shows that, The LSP concept can better meet the new demand of the digital university library.Through the study, we built a new library management system which has the advanced management concepts and related resources for the Chongqing Institute of Technology. We also made some demand analysis and got the results of inspection. This system can meet the needs of modern library management, based on the modern integrated network management platform,and has the highly scalable construction in order to change library management and service concepts. We try to provide an idea to integrate the traditional service and the digital resources management for the university libraries of our country. Then we can change the concepts of library management and service, optimize the management way and improve resource utilization in order to meet the user's information needs, and improve the library service level.
