This paper stressed on the design and research of GSMB(GodSon MainBoard ) which based on "Godson" CPU. System functions of GSMB based on "Godson" CPU was programmed by the discussion of "Godson"CPU micro-system structure finalization and by the introduction of "Godson"CPU performance requirements. This essay also specified on GSMB board level system structure, BIOS level solving and selection of important chips. Moreover, problems related to high speed circuit design such as mensurability, PCB layout signal integrity, electromagnetic coexist were researched. IBIS software simulation model was based on the research. At the same time key signal net and key model were simulated at board level with the help of EDA simulation analysis tool. GSMB was designed at board level based on the result of simulation.Main board design is a system project of much engineering. System performance requirement and lots of related factors should be considered in order to gain the best design method. Now the outer working frequency of GSMB can reach 117MHz, which can support Linux operating system and VxWorks and the like real-time operating system, and it can stand the test of high-low temperature (-35℃-70℃) working condition. The successful design of GSMB main board can not only establish theory and practice basis of designing server but also fill up the blank of no safety server based on domestic general CPU in our country in a long time. Moreover, GSMB platform can provide North Bridge, South Bridge, SOC IP core with a cross function hardware test circumstance, which can avail to develop chip groups of independent knowledge right, design all kinds of general CPU and high speed embedded CPU, strengthen market competitive ability, finish industrial develop of domestic CPU at an early date.
