Study & Development On Product Data Management Of Mid-Small Enterprise

With rapidly developing of the computer and communications technology, the global economic has been grown. The Chinese enterprise has been faced the hardly challenge and market competitive; with the development of new technology, the more products became rich, the more demands became variety, and the demands for product's personal are increased. Then the delivery time, the quality, the price of products and services after sale got more attention than ever. So under the international competitive, the enterprise, especially mid-small enterprise in china, must reform the corporation system and utilize the advanced science technology to make live and seek development. With the process of making live and seeking development, the enterprise in china has known that only being information and technology innovation can enhance its challenge and make it victory in global market.But there is a problem of the island of information with the application of CAD, CAM and CAPP etc. With the advancing of information, product data management, as the basement of information has been acknowledged by many enterprises. There are some advantages on application of PDM, such as easily realizing information and process integration, shortening the product design period and design modify, quickening time on market and reducing the totally cost. But there are some problems in adopting foreign product data management software, such as the high price, long implementing cycle, large implementing risk and redeveloping, So it is different to mostly Chinese mid-small enterprise to bring into effect, and they have no way to achieve the real info integration and process integration, and it has been the obstacle of being information of Chinese mid-smallenterprise.Based on the study of the product data management and the special conditions of Chinese mid-small enterprise, a product data management system has been developed which is studied in this article.
