Research & Development Of BPR-Based Management Information System On Garment Enterprises

The paper is Combined with the project supported by Huzhou Jinlibao Knitting GarmentCo., Ltd.-Research & Development of BPR-Based Management Information System onGarment Enterprises. Being a new thought of modern management, Business Process Reengineering needs not only an ideological change, but also to be supported by information technology. The paper starts from the analysis of the background of BPR-Based MIS. Then the development of BPR-Based MIS on garment enterprises is discussed. The paper is divided into seven chapters:Chapter one is the exordium. Based on the analysis and introduction of Business Process Reengineering (BPR) and the background of BPR-oriented Management Information System Development, the background and significance of research project and contents of the dissertation are addressed.Chapter two is the study of VC-BPR. In this chapter, the basic theory of traditional BPR is studied, and the BPR activated by Value Chain (VC-BPR) is proposed. According to the description of basic processes and subsidiary processes of Jinlibao Knitting Garment Co., Ltd., the Value Chain of the Co. is studied.Chapter three is the study of BPR of JLB Co. In this chapter, some Business Process Reengineering approaches are proposed. According to the shortages of current enterprise's warehouse entry and vent processes of rough material and accessories, effective solutions of BPR are presented.Chapter four is the planning and design of management information system based on BPR. Management Information System or Information Technology, as one enabler of BPR, has been put into wider application. Enterprises pay more attention to MIS planning as well. However, most of the traditional MIS planning methods are function-oriented or data-oriented, which are not suitable for process management promoted by BPR. Here a BPR-based MIS planning approach is proposed. Then this chapter designs the GLBMIS.Chapter five is the design of MIS's database. Taking into all results that have been discussed above, the enterprise information model and data model are proposed. In this chapter, data dictionary, database conceptual design and database physical design are designed.In chapter six, based on the management information system planning and design in above chapters, the development tools and the operational environment of MIS are pointed. At last, the primary user interfaces of the system are introduced.The last chapter is conclusion and expectation. The achievement and shortcomings of the dissertation are summarized. The following research works are put forward.
