The Library Information System Of Far-Distance Based On Four-tier Construction

In the article, the author briefly introduces the development process and the background of the project. Then it concretely narrates the basic knowledge, the application and the development aspect at present on MIS. And then it expatiates the run environment and background and basis in theory of the development of MIS. In this part the author particularly introduces the basic knowledge, means and overlap use of the software and it tells the basis and characters of the main developer tools-Visual Basic and the correlative academic basis of the layer of ADO. Then it briefly introduces the data development tools-SOL Sever 2000 and process framework analysis of the system. On the following chapter, the author mostly expatiates the whole design of the system. And finally it tells the process of development of the system. In the epilogue of the article, it briefly concludes the basic structure and style of writing of the article and the process of system development, and meanwhile it tells the development aspects of the management information system for the future and the deficiency of the article and the aspects await to improve.The article takes an actual information system on library of some school as the background and it researches the development on MIS on library at present and in the future. On the base of the analysis on common MIS, it combines the fashion technology and object-oriented theory and does some research and design based on four-layer information system on library. The front developer tool used in the system is Visual Basic6.0 combining ADO and its groupware and the background database is SQL Sever 2000.In the article, the author tells the development process of the management information system, from system function analysis, process framework analysis and system module partition to the realization of communication protocols from the Client to the Sever. The system is based on four-layer and it is far-distance information system on library. It includes four parts: the Client, ADO groupwarelayer, OLEDB database layer and operation logic layer. It realizes the management on books and readers, information inquiry, borrowing and returning books and some other functions. And meanwhile it achieves far-distance logging in and far-distance management.In the fact application, the system is more convenient and agile than the system based on two-layer. By way of expanding on system structure, it adds some functions that the two-layer system could not achieve at and meanwhile it overcomes the localization in the origin system. So it gets high appraise from the clients. In the alteration on database and rule, four-layer has some advantages that can't be replaced. For example, when the operation rule is changed, we need only alter the according operation logic layer and it's convenient and simple. However, in the two-layer, it's very fussy and inconvenient and it needs to make some alteration on every computer as the Client.As a whole, multi-layer including four-layer is thought as the development aspect of software, and the reason lies hi the benefits hi itself: hi the process of development, the software engineers definitude their job; and hi the process of operation, the system maintenance personnel simply develop their work.
