This thesis uses equipment and material of university as the research object, develop an MIS model which integrates patterns of client/server and browser/server with character of extensibility and commonability.Firstly, the thesis introduces the .NET Framework System structure and its sustainment to the enterprise-level software, which includes Windows Form, ASP.NET, Web Service and ADO.NET. Then, the System Structure Architecture the enterprise-level software is put forward.Secondly, the thesis discusses a method, which integrates patterns of client/server and browser/server as platform of development of MIS .comparing two patterns, the paper explains reasons of using such a platform. as an example ,the paper describes the method of design and development for the MIS of equipment and material of university based on this platform.Thirdly,The design of security for Web based MIS should think over two aspects , firstly , the access control of database ,next , the access control of Web pages. The thesis use role based access control model , design a set of logical data model and propose the basic algorithm for access database. Using Microsoft . NET forms authentication mode realized the Web pages control. Finally ,Combine the two aspects an integrated security model to be got.Finaly,based on the design targets and principles of the equipment and material of university, material management system of browser/server is designed.
