At present, out country mention strategy of "apply information to promote industrialization" and emphasize its importance. In the field of the computer application, MIS (Management Information System) is a kind of wide-used software. Using computer information management to promote enterprise's modernized management level has become the common understanding. As the skeleton production unit and the cost and profit center of enterprises, it is necessary to manage the workshops more scientific and normative. With the development of computer network technology, the mode of workshops' management is transferring from original craft statistics to computer manage.This text combines some workshop's actual conditions and concrete demand in Chengdu, based on traditional MIS system, through carrying on detailed analysis and comparison to popular systematic framework mode C/S (Client/Server) and B/s (Browse/Server) at present and combining the two perfectly; through the extensive research of the principle of the database and data transmission theoretical to the soft project, discusses the design of the workshop manufacturing management information system based on C/S and B/S mode in detail, which realizes controlling and monitoring workshop produce in real time and making real-time information networked, then satisfied with the requirement of accelerating the speed of response to the market, improving production efficiency and resource utilization ratio, improving information flow,etc.The whole workshop manufacturing management information system includes two parts: monitor in real time subsystem and network inquire subsystem. Widely uses the strong points of C/S and B/S, two parts are separate but work coordinately. Monitor in real time subsystem is based on C/S, finishes data acquisition, data transmission, etc: To resolve the real-time problem in data acquisition, actively sending data to serialport is created on intelligent equipment and a program of serialport monitoring is created, which has improved efficiency of data acquisition. And by using ADAM-4571 transparent port server it realizes long-distance serial communication. While network require subsystem is based on B/S through using ASP technology. To reduce the burden of network and improve system efficiency, store procedures which realize complicated inquire and analyse are created on server, which can convey only the operation result to client by transferring database. At the same time, whole system interface style is friendly and simple, especially; those figures and reports increase the man-machine interaction.The whole system follows the principle of design and realized the user's management demand successfully. It has been used almost one year. Its achievement provided a kind of MIS solving scheme based on enterprise intranet, and it surely has some reference value.
