The Study And Implementation Of XML's Application In E-Government

XML is a simple standard method to mark text data, it has the attributes of open, self-descriptive and cross-platform. So it is called "the ASCII code on Web". To apply XML in each layer of E-government system can provide not only solutions of a series core problem in E-government, but also the technical support of cross-operation with other fields. All of these require us to pay more attention to the application research of XML in E-government.The paper focused on how to apply the new technology XML in application and support layer of E-government effectively. We made thoroughly researches on the format of electronic official document based on XML, the method of using XSL to format electronic official document, the definition of E-government business process based on XML and XML Web services. We achieved the works following:(1) Electronic official documents in many government web sites are based on HTML, and created by people. So, many works are repeated and heavy. In order to solve these problems, we design a format of electronic official document based on XML and a style sheet based on XSL to control the display of document, then, the creation and display of document can be complete automatically in program, simplify the building and maintenance of government web sites.(2) Present E-government business process definition language. This definition language is referred to WfMC's The Workflow Reference Model and Workflow Process Definition Interface-XML Process Definition Language, it also considering the actual condition of our country's official department. This is a creationary work in E-government. Using this definition language can define all kinds of complex business process in E-government.(3) Develop four E-government process engines based on the brand new technology XML Web Services, the service calling mechanism makes them can be used in many E-government system. They can drive all business process defined with the business process definition language based on XML given in this paper.(4) Develop a One Web-Site Official Platform to support the process of official document in E-govemment application layer. In the platform, the access control of a document is exact to every point of the process; the flow of document between people and department is strictly according to the process definition, all these make the platform to be security and probity.E-government is a systematic project, it is the crucial field in country's informational construction. So, the study of XML's application in E-government has much meaning in theory and practice.
