The objective of this research was to Correct the Blind Pixels which greatly decrease the imaging quality of the IR Imager based on 288x4 IR FPA and the Correction is one of the key technologies for IR Imaging electronic processing. There are three sections in this Study: firstly we used the image taken from the IR imager as the original image data source, programming in Visual C++6.0 Based on the Windows 95/98 Operate System to simulate the processing of Detecting The Blind Pixels Based on the field; to simulate the two different processing methods of Blind Pixels Correction: one is the Replacement by the neighbor good Pixel another is the factored inserting by the by the two neighbor good Pixels, after simulating, the Corrected Images were displayed to compare the two ways with each other; Secondly, Designed the Hardware Plate by the advanced electronic technology-FPGA technology to realize the simulate methods in Digital Imaging Processing, the Plate was composed by a chip of XVC100E FPGA and a TV frame memory, which provided a good environment for firth study; finally realized the Blind Pixels Detection and Correction in the Hardware Plate in the advanced Hardware Description Language-VHDL, after testing in the real imaging system, we found the result is perfect and could be compared with the Imaging quality of the foreign system of the same type. Further research suggestions were also given at the end of this paper.
