In order to satisfy customer requirements better, shorten design cycle of product, improve competitive ability of market, QFD and TRIZ are integrated during the conceptual design of the toilet seat. In addition, in order to develop computer aided design technology, help corporation quickly find out the solution of product, a visual software system for house of quality in QFD is programmed in this thesis. The main work may be summarized as follows.1. The conceptual design of the toilet seatBased on QFD, through investigation into customer requirements and analysis, house of quality composed of customer requirements and technical measures is generated. The relationship between customer requirements and technical measures is listed in the middle part of it, and the relationship among technical measures is listed in the top of it. The weight of technical measure is also calculated in it. In this way, customer requirements are translated into quantifiable items.According to function-based taxonomy, the total function of the toilet seat is firstly illustrated. Then it is decomposed into supported functions.Based on the theory of QFD, house of quality composed of technical measures and functions, house of quality composed of functions and structures are respectively built.The design contradiction is found out and standardized, and then it is solved using the 39 standard parameters, 40 inventive principles and contradiction matrix in TRIZ. At last the inner structure and the outline of the toilet seat are drawn.2. The software system for house of qualityBased on PC machine and platform of WINDOWS, a visual software system for house of quality is developed using the object-oriented software PowerBuilder. Its function can be stated as follows: after inputting customer requirements, technical measures and relative data, house of quality composed of customer requirements and technical measures will be generated automatically, and the importance of technical measures will be shown in the form of histogram. In addition, if the product has existed in the market, the competitive curves for technical measures and customer requirements will also be automatically generated. The interface of thissoftware adopts menu and toolbar, so it can be widely used and easily operated.In a word, the development of the software will be helpful to fast development of product, and it will also accelerate the implement of QFD in the corporation.
