Product data management (RDM) is a technology based on Information Technology, focusing on product and integrating and managing all of the information related to product. PDM technology is one of the fastest developing technologies in CIMS domain in recent years and is a indispensable tool for enterprise informatization.This paper instances Xinjiang Machinery Limited Company of Light Industry Group and researches a PDM system梈XPDM, focusing in the design and development of product and applying to the middle and little machinery manufacture enterprise. After dissertating the field feature of machinery industry and the problem that PDM System for machinery Industry should solve, this paper put forward the architecture of the PDM system applied to middle and little machinery manufacture enterprise. By using IDEFx method, we construct enterprise information models. Then we design the database and the the PDM system according the architecture, so as to create a informatization and integration environment of design and research for enterprise. In the system design, we fully consider the field feature and field requirement of machinery industry, especially of middle and little machinery manufacture enterprise, so the system designed has relative higher flexibility and can well apply to middle and little machinery manufacture.
