It is a practical way to deal with the "bottle neck" problem of user access network that using CATV network to deploy three information services- telephone .. television and data simultaneously. This paper aims to provide a new scheme of high-speed bi-directional services transmission system with lower cost, perfect technique and good performance based on HFC network. The research work is mainly on the design and implementation of the control center for the bi-directional services transmission system on CATV network. Firstly, the related international standard, the development status and structure of the CATV network in china along with the superiority to achieve Internet access and various integrated services are introduced in this paper. Furthermore, the feature of this system is analyzed and the methods are provided to decrease the noise and solve the collision in return path. Then, it mainly discusses the design principle, key technology and implementation process of PCI added-card center modem of the bi-directional transmission system. Finally, the testing results obtained from experiments are presented to verify the idea. The scheme presented in this paper is beneficial to do more study on and spreading the bi-directional services transmission on CATV network and advances the combination of the three networks.
