The classical poetry reading teaching is always the key and the difficult part in the middle school Chinese teaching. Through the classical poems reflection on the status of teaching, this paper aims at exploring the characteristics, the significance and the implementation strategy of the middle school Chinese classical poetry teaching, which is under the new curriculum background. The article pointed out that the classical poetry teaching should be the teaching of inheriting cultural, the teaching of walking into the artistic realm and the teaching of talking with history. The classical poetry teaching has not the definite method, the Chinese middle school teachers should use flexible teaching methods creatively, cultivate students, interest of learning classical poetry and the habit of reading classical poetry consciously, in order to making students enjoy the beautiful realm of learning classical poetry in the happiness. During appreciating classical poetry, perceiving image, understanding mood is the core of appreciation, teachers should make students as the main, actively guiding and encouraging students to imagine widely based on the text. The students should have multiple feeling and experience to upgrade their esthetic ability and the cultural quality.
