Work engagement is a kind of individuals'stable and positive attitude showed inthe process of working, which are manifested as working vigor, absorption,responsibility, affective commitment and dedication. It is a relatively stable personalitytraits. It is influenced by many factors, which exists individual differences. Thisresearch takes medical personnel as subjects, and conducts a systematic study on thecontent, structure, the present situation, characteristics and its influencing factors ofwork engagement. On the one hand it can enrich the research content of workengagement. On the other hand it can also promote the vocational mental health andprovide suggestions and guidance on how to improve work engagement among medicalpersonnel.The methods of document analysis and questionnaire investigation were used tostudy work engagement of medical personnel. Firstly, it reviewed the previous researchand discussed the structure of work engagement of medical personnel. Secondly, thepreliminary questionnaire of medical personnel's work engagement was designedaccording to previous results and suggestions of professional people, with which 447medical personnel were investigated. After investigating 519 medical personnel withformal questionnaire, the model turned outed to be legitimate and fitting by means ofthe confirmatory factor analysis and so on. The Medical Personnel's Work EngagementQuestionnaire was examined by many indexes. Lastly, explored the characteristics ofwork engagement of medical personnel. In addition, we studied the relationship of thework engagement and general self-efficacy with job performance. Several significantconclusions were drawn as following:(1)Work engagement of medical personnel is a structure system withmulti-dimensions, including responsibility, interpersonal concordance, enterprisingspirit, working vigor, affective commitment , dedication and absorption.(2)The reliability and validity on the self-made questionnaire of medical personnel's work engagement meet criterion of psychometrics.(3)Generally, the level of medical personnel's work engagement was over theaverage scores.(4)There were no significant differences of work engagement in variables as sex,marital status, education, work length, professional title, and work department. But themedical personnel with different monthly income showed distinct significance of theirwork engagement. And work engagement had a gradual rise with monthly incomeincreasing.(5)The correlation analysis showed there was significantly positive correlationbetween general self-efficacy and work engagement. Regression analysis showed thatgeneral self-efficacy could positive predict work engagement.(6)According to study of relation, there existed significantly positive correlationbetween work engagement and job performance. Regression analysis showed that workengagement could significantly predict job performance.
