Senile Cutaneous Pruritus By Using The Yangxue Qufeng Decoction Clinical Observation

1 objectiveCutaneous pruritus is a very common and recurring skin diaorder, the treatment of cutaneous pruritus is very difficult because of unknown etiology.There are some medication used to treat this skin problem such as antihistamine,corticostriods,tricyclic antidepressants and so on..however,the effect of these drugs are not satisfied and the adverse effect of these drugs are staggering, for example,atrophy of skin,telangictasia,drowsy.Herb therapy is a very useful alternative method especially to treat senile cutaneous pruritus.In clinic,we have achieved a success to treat cutaneous pruritus by using the yangxue qufeng decoction.In this clinical,observation,for obtainning reliable clinical statistical data,we chose sixty casesat random and observed the effect of the yangxue qufeng decoction in treatment of cutaneous pruritus.2 methodAll of patients were from department of dermatology,hubei hospital of traditional chinese medicine from 8/2007 to 12/2008.60 patients were enrolled and devided into two groups:the treatment group and the control group.The two groups contained 30 patients respectively.These patients of the treatment group took the yangxue qufeng decoction orally,trice a day for six weeks;these patients of the control group took Chlorphenamine Meleate,Calcim Gluconate,vitamine c orally,tricea day for Six weeks.3.Observation pointsEvaluation criteria:①pruritus score before treatment②time points and disease③clinical efficacy evaluation criteria:Healed: After treatment Syndromes＞95%efficacy rate Markedly:treatment efficacy rate Syndromes＞70%,＜95%Effective:After treatment efficacy rate Syndromes＞30%,＜70%,Invalid:After treatment efficacy rate Syndrome＜30%.4 results4.1 These was significant difference in the effect rate between the treatment group and the control group in statistics,the effect of the treatment group was better than of the control group(p＜0.05).4.2 These wasnt significant difference in itching scores after treatment between the treatment group and the control group in statistics(p＞0.05)4.3 These was significant difference in other symptom scores after treatment between the treatment group and the control group in statistics.the treatment group was better than of the control group(p＜0.01).4.4 These was significant difference in total scores after treatment between the treatment group and the control group in statistics.the treatment group was better than of the.control group.(p＜0.05). 5 ConclusionThe clinical observation confirmed the yangxue qufeng decoction can improve the symptom and sign of cutaneous pruritus in statistics and in clinic,these isnt significant difference in alleviating itch between the treatment group and the control group,but the treatment group is better than the control group in improving dry skin,thirst,depression.
