Microbiological Study On Abutment After Restoration Of Dentition Defect With Conical Telescopic Removable Denture In Patients With Periodontitis

Objective: To study the influence on periodontal disease with defect of dentition after telescope crown retainer to the abutment periodontium .Methods: 18 cases of periodontal diseases and these complicated with partial edentulism were treated with prosthodontic methods after comprehensive periodontal therapy.Telescope crown was choised after state steady and divided into two groups at random:periodontal therapy group and non-periodontal therapy group. Plaque Index ( PLI) , Gingival Index ( GI) , Probing Depth ( PD) , Sulcus Bleeding Index (SBI),Tooth movability(TM) of both before and following prosthetic restoration of 1,3,6months were recorded. Samples from subgingival pocket were collected,cultured,evaluated and compared between periodontal therapy group and non-periodontal therapy group.Result: Compared to abutment before prosthetic,the teeth movability after telescopic denture treatment got notable decrease(P<0.05). PLI,GI,SDI and the quantity of Bacillus megatherium and F.nucleatum of the periodontal therapy group had not notable change compared with the basic line.(P>0.05). After restorative 3 month, GI,PLI and the positive rate and the quantity of Bacillus megatherium and F.nucleatum of the non-periodontal therapy group showed significant different with the periodontal therapy group(P<0.05).6 month later,the upwards index showed extreme different the both group(P<0.01).Conclusion: Periodontal diseases and these complicated with partial edentulism were treated with telescope crown retainer to decrease the tooth movability.But periodontal plague attachment was not under control effective. So the periodontal therapy has important sense to raise the achievement ratio of prosthetic after telescopic crown retainer by preventing the relapse of periodontal plague attachment.
