The Influence Of The Telescope Crown Retainer To IL-6 And TNF-α In The Periodontium Of Abutment

Objective:To investigate the changes of gingival crevicular fluid(GCF)quantity and concentration of IL-6 and TNF—αin GCF during telescope crown retainer restoration.To study the influence of telescope crown retainer to the periodontium of abutmentMethods:16 patients,(using second premolar as abutments)with telescope crown retainer or porcelain-fussed—to-metal fixed bridge be selected in this study.The subjects were divided into two groups:telescope crown group and porcelain-fussed—to-metal fixed bridge (PFM-bridge)group.GCF was collected from mesial sites in two groups before the tooth preparation.The quantity of GCF and the concentration of IL-6 and TNF—αwere regarded as baseline.At the point of 2 weeks,1 month,3 months and 6 months after telescope crown retainer and PFM-bridge restoration,GCF was collected for longitudinal invesgation and comparison between two groups about the quantity of GCF and the concentration of IL-6 and TNF—α.Results:1.In telescope crown group,the quantity of GCF,the concentration of IL-6 and TNF—αshowed no significant difference on baseline,2 weeks,1 month,3 months,6 months.2.In PFM-bridge group,the quantity of GCF and the concentration of IL-6,on3 6months, showed significant difference(P＜0.05)with baseline;on 6 months,showed extreme difference (P＜0.01)with baseline.On 1months,3months,6month,the concentration of TNF—αshowed extreme difference(P＜0.01)with baseline.3.In PFM-bridge group,the quantity of GCF on 6 months,showed significant difference (P＜0.05)with telescope crown group;the concentration of TNF—α,on 1 months,3months,6months,showed extreme difference(P＜0.01)with telescope crown group;the concentration of IL-6,on 1 months,showed significant difference(P＜0.05)with telescope crown group;the concentration of IL-6,on 3 months and 6 months,showed extreme difference(P＜0.01)with telescope crown group.Conclusion:The telescope crown retainers have little influence to the periodontium of the abutments.The porcelain-fussed—to-metal fixed bridge change the periodontal environment of the abutments,and destroy the periodotium of the abutments.
