Objective:To evaluate the efficacy of non-surgical and surgical therapy in the treatment of periodontal disease and Orthodontic assistance.Methods:Four cases were selected from the Department of Periodontology,the Affiliated Stomatological Hospital of Fujian Medical University from March 2017 to March 2019.First case was chronic severe periodontitis with initial periodontal therapy and assist of Er:YAG(Erbium:Yttrium Aluminum Garnet)to eliminate deep periodontal pockets;second case was chronic severe periodontitis with initial periodontal therapy and then treated with surgical therapy,it was guided tissue regeneration with bone grafts;the third one was acute necrotizing ulcerative gingivitis with initial periodontal therapy assist of low-level laser therapy,and focus on plaque control during treatment;the last case is Orthodontic patient with periodontally accelerated osteogenic orthodontics therapy.Results:The first case of chronic severe periodontitis treated with initial periodontal therapy combined with Er:YAG adjuvant therapy.After treated two months later,signs and symptoms were relief,looseness and bleeding of lower anterior teeth was reduced consciously.On clinical examination,the gingival inflammation subsided,the depth of exploration became shallow,and the periodontal pocket had dropped below 3 mm.The second case of chronic severe periodontitis treated by initial periodontal therapy combined with periodontal surgery.Four months after surgery,the patient's symptoms of bleeding was improved and the left posterior teeth has been able to meet daily chewing needs.In the third case,patient with acute necrotizing ulcerative gingivitis were treated with periodontal basic therapy and low level laser therapy.After treatment,the necrotic area of gingiva healed well.During the follow-up period,plaque control was emphasized and no recurrence of gingival inflammation was observed.In the fourth case,patient was treated with periodontally accelerated osteogenic orthodontics therapy before orthodontic treatment.Two months after surgery,mucosa healing well and the bone meal was not displaced.Its role in orthodontic treatment remains to be further traced.In this case report,the patient's symptoms improved and achieved satisfactory clinical effects.Conclusion:Both non-surgical and surgical therapy can play a role in the treatment of periodontal disease,but the indication should be suitable.Plaque control should be paid more attention during the treatment.Periodontally accelerated osteogenic orthodontics can meet the demand of orthodontic treatment for bone augmentation.
