The Research On New Style Of Beijing Siheyuan

Beijing Siheyuan,through centuries and the replacement of the dynasties,is becoming the witness and the actor of china history.Either it's architectural value,or the humanities are worthy of our contemporary people to learn and pass on. Beijing Siheynan,illustrated in the books and magazines,looks perfact,witch has four characteristics that every one want to live in the environment:long narrow alleys,closed internal space,gray houses and harmony life.However,the majority of Beijing Siheyuan lose its original charm in the reality,especially,the civilian's Beijing Siheyuan has became the veritable slum.In recent years,the government took a series measures to protect and reconstruct the Beijing Siheyuan to maitain the fabric of the old city of Beijing.However,each project is not satisfactory for us.So the direction I choosed for this paper is reconstruction of Beijing Siheyuan.Hope that,through the way of analysising and researching find a suitable way to reconstruct Beijing Siheyuan,in order to make my own contribution on the continuation of the ancient Beijing texture.The Beijing Siheyuan is in the period of transformation while the traditional form of Siheyuan can not fullfil the various needs of residents any more.Thus to find out a new residential form to suit the new life has become our main task,so I put forword a suggestion that pursue a new style of Beijing Siheyuan.Firstly,the natural condition from which Beijing Siheyuan was conceived was introduced.Through the perspective of traditional living pattern,the thesis explained the social economical and cultural reasons of its formation.The thesis introduced the current situation of Beijing Siheyuan,and state the existing problems.And I believe that the basic reason is that traditional space pattern can not suitable the new family composition and lifestyle.I chose two solid examples as typical model form the redevelopment of Beijing Siheyuan,and then summarize the design skill and use comparison method to analysis the variety of space and it's content.Finally,I gether the problems which emergence in the Beijing Siheyuan redevelopment and put forward the advice on how to make out a new style which balance protection and redevelopment.
