| The history of Chinese bridge can be traced back to thousands of years ago,the wise ancient people have developed skillful technology of bridge construction.They constructed various and different styles of structures,zoning design in various historical period.As a significant component of Chinese traditional timbered bridges,Timber-arched Lounge Bridge in Shouning in Fujian is a distinctive existence because of its large amount,long history and integrity.The value of being a cultural relic,of its constructing technique and of its architectural esthetics has being well known from many territories in recent years.The task,which is based on analysis of present papers and autoptical work,through a view of vertical and horizontal contrast,has made a comparison between the Timber-arched Lounge Bridge in Shouning and the one in Taishun in south Zhejiang,and systematically introduced the architectural characters and ornamental traits of Timber-arched Lounge Bridge in Shouning.It also deeply probed to the artistic and psychological esthetics of it,in order to exhibit its value of history, science and art.The paper,based on autoptical work and research,has generalized the architectural characteristics of Timber-arched Lounge Bridge in Shouning:crafty structure,simple and unsophisticated sculpt,magnificent shape;and its ornamental traits:fine sculpture,fluent line, perfect composition of fresco,bright colors,and many couplets hung on the columns of a hall.All of these have fully embodied the traits of ancient architecture in Shouning area,and have reflected the architectural view of the local people.The partition of zoning and the frame of Lounge Bridge are well accommodated to the local climate point and economic level,which have vivid period traits,and have reflected temporal social culture and economy from a side view.In the end,the paper has further discussed the conversation and development trend of Timber-arched Lounge Bridge in Shouning in the future. |
