The Research Of Environment Facility In The Bai SiHe-Yuan House Under The Modern Dwelling Mode

The thesis main focus on the traditional residences of Bai minority in Dali, Yunnan Province. I use the points of ecological system theory, modern product design theory and the environmental facility design theory as the methods of my study. I think the residence is an assembly of people, house and environment, so the environmental facility and landscape is very important in this system.From the history of development in architecture over the world, we can find a truth that the development of modern architectural mode should be based on the traditional national dwelling cultures, and the modern mode which totally abandon the tradition is not exist.Dali is a city with long history and have glorious traditional art and culture. It had been taken as a center of polity, economy and culture in the ancient. The traditional residence of Dali is a special kind of SiHeYuan(four-side enclosed courtyards) which is very famous taditional house in China. People in Dali put the ethnic culture, folk custom and local characteristic into the house. The layouts , forms and decorations of residence are full of ethnic features. The style of house in Lijang is similar with it in Dali, but several parts such as putting water into yard are different from those in Dali. I will study this deeply in my thesis.The aim of my thesis is finding good ways to develop new ethnic environmental facility , which not only can satisfy the modern aesthetic needs and comfortable living condition needs, but also preserve the traditional ethnic characters. The study will be useful and helpful for the development of tour industry and real estate in ethnic districts, that is the purpose of my study.The range of environmental facility design is very big , my thesis main focus on the SiHeYuan and following three parts : 1st The Green Foliage and Water I will study how to put the natural landscape and the local traditional dwelling feature together ,and put the water into the yard , improving the environment and the taste ofthe residence . 2nd The Floor I will study how to cover the floor use the local traditional or modem materials ,and how to collocate different materials ,and get best views which fit to modem aesthetic needs and with ethnic features at same time. 3rd The Lighting I will study how to use lights to reveal and improve the appearance of different parts of the residence in the best way .The light including the water light, the cornice light ,the corridor light, and landscape light.Yangjie (Art Design) Supervised by YuYing...
