Full size vehicles collision tests are basic method of evaluating collision safety performance of automobiles. Collision datum from full size vehicles collision tests can be still applied to traffic accident analysis. Therefore, full size vehicle collision tests can not only supply basis for improving the passive safety performance level of automobiles, but possess a great importance in improving the scientific properties of traffic accident analysis as well. Three kinds of methods of establishing collision energy squares of automobiles on the basis of collision datum are discussed in this paper. The methods that making use of integrate method establish energy squares of our country automobiles are treated as a stress. The following conclusions have been obtained through research. The methods of establishing automobiles?energy squares by integrating collision force F(t) over the distance crushed S(t), or by integrating acceleration a(t) over the distance crushed S(t) obtained datum of frontal barrier test at one time, are practicable. Making use of energy squares established by stiffness coefficients or integrating calculate collision speed abide by following regular pattern: the lower collision speed, the larger error; the higher collision speed, the smaller error. At the same time, the viewpoint is Iv put forward that starting point of automobiles?actual deformation should be treated as starting point of crushed depth measurement when collision speed is lower and that the middle point of automobiles front bumper should be treated as starting point of crushed depth measurement when collision speed is higher. On the basis of the analysis of theory, actual traffic accidents are analyzed using energy squares. The methods of establishing collision energy squares of automobiles and the viewpoint of putting forward possess certain significance to guiding the full size vehicle collision test of our country, improving precision of energy squares so as to improve precision of iI V in the collision period of traffic accident.
