Road traffic accidents have become a major hazard to human society in different accidents and disasters. With the fast development of automotive industry and transportation, increase of vehicle population, China has become one of countries with the most serious traffic accidents in the world, the death toll has ever been more than 100,000 for four years. Therefore, the application of advanced technology to identify the reason and responsibility of road traffic accidents in order to prevent and control accidents has great significance. In this paper, the impact factors on road accidents and traffic collision process are analyzed systematically. Vehicle collisions and vehicle collisions with pedestrian are selected as the object, and discuss the theory of collision process deeply. Based on different types of accidents, building the math model to analyze them and developing the computer-aided system on road traffic accidents by computer. The most common types in road traffic accidents are analyzed in the system, such as head-on collision, vehicle tracing cauda, 2-dimensional collision in vehicle collision and vehicle collisions with pedestrian, through model selection and MATLAB technology to simulate and reconstruct traffic accidents, in order to assist the identification for accidents. The development and improvement of the system can help the assistants who take charge of dealing with accidents with fast and high-quality scene investigation, parameter calculation and accident analysis, which contributes to checking the reasons for the accident and to seeking countermeasures and strategies to avoid accidents, reduce the loss.
