The harm caused by road traffic accidents has affected the economic and socialdevelopment, and many families are under enormous pain because of the heavy casualties rateof pedestrians in the vehicle-pedestrian collision, so the identification and the judgment ofaccidents are particularly important. The accident reconstruction as an important method ofaccidents analysis can provide a scientific evidence for the local authority, and improve theefficiency, fairness and accuracy for dealing with traffic accident. It is useful to explore themethods to prevent and avoid accidents.The paper introduced the characteristics of vehicle-pedestrian collision, and studied thetheory and empirical methods by using the information left at the scene such as tire marks,throw distance, falling objects. The concept of in-depth investigation about traffic accidentwas expounded; the ideas and theoretical basis can be supplied for developing the depthaccident investigation and analysis by exploring the content and methods of accident ofvehicle-pedestrian collision.The accident reconstruction of vehicle-pedestrian collision and the throw distance atdifferent speeds are based on computer simulation combined with the previous summary ofthe theoretical and experiential formula. The injury mechanism and evaluation indicator ofpedestrian analyzed based on multi-body dynamics and biomechanics. It determines theseverity of pedestrian injury by using the dynamic response of the pedestrian body partsobtained from the simulation results.The kinematic and dynamic response of pedestrian was studied by using the PC-Crashsoftware. It estimated the collision velocity using video and built the collision model ofvehicle and pedestrian for accident reconstruction according to a real traffic accident. Theresults showed that pedestrian posture after collision was much similar to the scene of video.So it verified the validity of the model.Based on the effective model, the paper analyzed the rule of lateral displacement ofpedestrian after collision by changing the pedestrian parameters such as height, walkingvelocity and relative position to vehicle. The results of simulation have shown that the firstinfluencing factor is the relative position to vehicle, the second influencing factor is thepedestrian height, and the third influencing factor is pedestrian walking velocity. This rulecould shorten the time of accident reconstruction effectively and deal with traffic accidentrapidly.
